LIV Golf joinee Jon Rahm surpasses golf GOAT Tiger Woods and World No.2 Rory McIlroy as the 2024 highest-paid athletes in the world listed by Sportico. As per reports, Rahm enjoys his 2nd world ranking spot with $203 million, guaranteed with $181 million winning and $22 million from endorsements. So far, Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the charts with $275 million in earnings.

The 3rd spot goes to Lionel Messi with $130 million in his pocket. Unfortunately, McIlroy and Woods seem to have fallen far behind the charts at 13th and 14th position with $77.4 million and $77.2 million respectively. McIlroy pocketed $37.4 million in career earnings and $40 million via endorsements. Woods, on the other hand, sits with $12.2 million in career earnings and $65 million in endorsement deals.

Rahm’s 2nd spot can be attributed to his December LIV Golf contract which earned him a $600 million deal with the Saudi-backed league. The deal was estimated to be between $ 500 million – $600 million, which sent shockwaves throughout the golfing community. The merger deal was scheduled back which was estimated to be over in talks by December 31st.

Furthermore, his exit dealt a heavy blow to the PGA Tour. Woods on the other hand did not participate in many events, the last two being in December. Prior to that he participated in the 2023 The Masters, and took a long break to recuperate from his surgeries after a 2021 car accident.

Jon Rahm’s salary and endorsement deals explored

Jon Rahm’s net worth as of 2024 seems to be approx. $100 million. In 2023, he ranked 28th according to Forbes the world’s highest-paid athlete earnings. He recorded $53 million while in 2024, he made a high jump to $203 million in total career earnings. 

The 29-year-old enjoys a career salary of $77,234,151 million as of 2024 with an AAV of $11 million respectively. He concluded the year with a total of $21,305,109 million, adding all the prize money the Spaniard accumulated in tournament wins. Prior to debut and exit from the PGA Tour, he amassed an incredible amount of $51,546,651 million.

Apart from his career earnings, he also pocketed millions from endorsements and investments. He has penned endorsement deals with Mercedes-Benz, Rolex, Vista Jet, Silverleaf Club, and Blue Yonder. He also signed a deal with Callaway after working with TaylorMade for a few years. 

Jon Rahm also invested $20 million in Boston Breach in 2022 and has expressed interest in the eSports line. He admitted enjoying playing Call of Duty as one of them. So far, the Spaniard has enjoyed a lavish lifestyle in his elegant four-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Arizona.

Since his debut in LIV Golf, it is expected that he’ll further rise in the ranks. Although it’s tough to say that he may break the record and be listed as  No.1 on the highest-paid list in 2025, he’ll enjoy a quality sum since signing with the Saudi-backed league.
