The 28-time Olympic medalist and swimming legend Michael Phelps have achieved everything in the world of swimming but there are a few things in his life that he is surely not proud of.
However, the 37-year-old has words of wisdom for others who are going through a tough phase in life. Despite being a superstar in his sport, his career was marred with a few controversies.
How Michael Phelps has helped Tiger Woods through his latest rough patch
The Australian swimmer gave some useful advice to none other than golf legend Tiger Woods when the golfer was going through a tough phase in his life. The 46-year-old American golfer has been involved in an endless number of controversies during his successful career.
A few years before – when Woods‘ career was all overshadowed by controversies – the Australian swimmer wished him best and said to don’t repeat those mistakes again.
“I’d be the first to admit I’ve made a lot of mistakes both in and out of the pool,” said the 23-time Olympic gold medalist. “But of the mistakes, I’ve made I’ve never made the same mistake again. I’ve become a much stronger person, and I’ve helped other people not make the same mistakes.“
“You see who your actual friends are and who supports you. I will say I’m wishing the best for him and his family at a time like this,” said Phelps.
Woods saw a shocking turn of events during his peak years. In 2009, the World’s No.1 golfer was involved in an accident and after that, his life took a 360-degree U-turn.
There was HBO’s new two-part documentary on Tiger, which explored his career. But soon after that number of females came forward and alleged that they were sexually involved with the married golfer.
Soon after that, he started struggling with golf and his wife filed a divorce case against him as well. He started losing his sponsors and later had to settle his divorce case with his wife for $100 million.
