The face of golf has been changed, with Netflix’s new series ‘Full Swing’ hitting the OTT platform with success. Full Swing takes on the biggest names of golf- and the pressures that come with it. The centre of professional golf come with a never-ending bout of intensity, rivalry and of course, respect. Director and producer Chad Mumm’s idea 2 years ago has finally taken shape- becoming a reality.

Taking place over 2 years, the series has managed to cover everything it can in 2021 and 2022. This also brings to life the uphill battle that has begun over the years- the birth of the Saudi backed LIV Series, LIV Golf. The Series split the golf world in 2, with defectors, loyalists and a whole lot of opinions.

With riveting drama and never-ending sacrifices a part of the series, it will come back again for season 2. Things will be more exciting and even more intense, as the battle between the PGA Tour and LIV Series seems to have taken a bigger twist. One can only hope that Rory McIlroy will now make a proper appearance in the series, unlike the one episode cameo he made in season 1.

The series has already begun capturing content since the WM Phoenix Open this year. “These shows quickly appealed to core fans of golf and tennis, and also recruited brand new fans from all around the world,” said Brandon Riegg, Vice President.

“Like so much of our growing sports slate, the compelling characters, competitive stakes, and vibrant storytelling reveal sides of the game you’ve never seen before, and we’re excited to follow the unpredictable turns of the year ahead.” Full Swing has currently managed to reach the top 10 English TV List on Netflix, showing the popularity that golf is building up.

The second season will be another exciting behind the scenes, but this time the set of golfers will be different. From the heart wrenching close calls, to the constant fight to stay at the top. The fight will only get tougher as the field get stronger and tighter for the 2023 season.
