In her recent “Playing the Round” podcast, golfing sensation Paige Spiranac revealed the experience she had while playing with Derek Jeter. The 29-year-old was a part of the Derek Jeter Celebrity Invitational and teamed up with him. She was soon left stunned by his play and kept singing praises.
The former captain has continued to make an impact even after retirement. Founded in 1996, the Turn 2 Foundation has raised millions of dollars over the years. This foundation was established with the aim to support youngsters in their community. The 48-year-old MLB great has since then hosted this event several times and has invited some big names to take part.
“He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met,” she said about Jeter. “I think with a lot of these celebrities, and especially athletes, they’re very full of themselves, and I think you do need a bit of that to be very successful, you need to have confidence in yourself and a lot of them are very narcissistic and cocky, and he is the exact opposite,” Spiranac added.

Though the experience of playing with Derek Jeter was unforgettable, Paige Spiranac informed she had a hard time. The famous social media personality was seen struggling to keep up with the others at the event. She took part in the event and even went the extra mile in training over her golf swing.
After failing to line up a few shots, the golfer went into a mental breakdown. “I played like absolute garbage. I was so embarrassed. I couldn’t hit a shot. I literally topped a three-wood on 18 in front of Derek Jeter. It was bad. I was really struggling,” Spiranac explained her situation. Things went out of her control after she reached the 17th tee.
Despite a tough day at the golf course, Spiranac would overcome the difficulties she faced. The golfer turned around the poor performance in the next days as she finished with a respectable score of 66. The event which was hosted in Bahamas, was able to raise a sum of over one million for the foundation.
