The newly inaugurated LIV Golf series has caused quite the tension in the golf world, leaving a lot of controversy. As many golfers are slowly making the switch from the PGA Tour to LIV Series, several people have their ideas and opinions as to what to make of this split that the golf world seems to be experiencing.

Pierceson Coody, the grandson of Master’s champion Charles Coody has been preparing for his third Korn Ferry tour. Practicing over 8 hours a day, the young rookie pro recently passed up quite a lucrative opportunity that he passed up. Just last month while completing his senior year, Coody said his father and him denied a ‘multi-million’ dollar deal that was laid out by the LIV Series.

While Coody said that he would be given financial security by entering the LIV Golf series, he would be denied his life long dream- playing in the PGA Tour. “I might be sitting on my couch with millions in my bank account watching my friends play on the PGA Tour, and that would have been devastating,” Coody said to golf.com. LIV asked for a two year commitment, with all expenses including hotel and fare paid by the Series itself.

“I had people ask me in college if I had been contacted by the LIV tour and I said, ‘No, no, no,’” he added. “When it actually happened, it was easier to say no than I would have imagined.” The offer shows how aggressively the LIV Series is approaching new players in order to get players of all ages and all abilities.
