Stanford’s Rose Zhang makes history with victory at Augusta National Women’s Amateur

Amidst the lush greenery of Augusta National Golf Club, Rose Zhang cemented her position in the annals of women’s amateur golf. Her gutsy victory at the fourth Augusta National Women’s Amateur on April 2, 2023, added another feather to her cap, showcasing her tenacity and grit on a day when everything seemed to be going against her. Georgia head coach Josh Brewer stated that Augusta National had to happen for anyone to deny Zhang the coronation. And Augusta National did happen. But despite the course making Zhang look very beatable for the first time all week, the Stanford superstar did not give up. She fought back to force a playoff and eventually emerged victorious.
