The LIV Golf series has not failed to disrupt the seemingly settled golf world. What started as a small threat is gradually taking over the entire golf scene. It has caused divides, broken friendships and left golf in quite a limbo. The fresh new style of golf, while quite entertaining, has not been accepted by the purists.

Unfortunately, what seems to be worse is the fact the golfers have taken money to join the series. That is not going down well with fellow golfers and fans alike. The unrest of this situation, however, might be broken by the Ryder Cup- or at least that is what European team captain Luke Donald believes.

Donald hopes that the Ryder Cup will help keep aside the bitterness golf is facing. “The history of the Ryder Cup is vital really, I think. What’s so great about the Ryder Cup is that it does garner an interest in a new generation of players and fans to this game. I think it’s always an inspiration to the fans, to anyone,” said Donald.

US team captain Zach Johnson is also pro Ryder Cup. While the US trashed Europe last year with a dominant victory of 19-9, Europe is back with a vengeance, and looking to take the title from the favourites.
