WATCH: Shane Lowry angrily throws away golf club after hitting the waters at 15th hole during final round of Cognizant Classic

Shane Lowry, the Irish golfer was looking strong in the Cognizant Classic until one slip up at the end cost him. The golfer found himself having trouble at “The Bear Trap” at the PGA National during the final round.
The Bear Trap, is one of the hardest three-hole stretch in golf. Designed by legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, the 15th, 16th and 17th hole prove to be a daunting task for many golfers. Lowry unfortunately found learned it the hard way.
At the par-3 15th hole, the 36-year-old golfer ended up making a double bogey. He would start of hitting his shot in the water ponds, leaving him in a dire situation.
As his ball splashed in the water, Lowry’s emotion got the better of him. The 2019 Open Championship winner would angrily throw his golf club on the ground and kick the surface in frustration. A video of his reaction has since gone viral on the internet with many criticizing him for this actions.
Shane Lowry comes up shy at Cognizant Classic
In golf, one slip-up could change the entire course of the game. This is what happened with Shane Lowry as he came up shy at the Cognizant Classic after some impressive performances in the first three rounds.
Lowry carded scores of 67,67 and 66 to keep up with the pace. By the time he was done with third round, he was on top of the leaderboard. However, he slipped up a bit in the final round.
While being tied for the top spot in the final round, the weather delay on Sunday meant Lowry could only play five holes. This five holes though proved to be tricky as he made four pars and one bogey.
This saw him fall three strokes behind Austin Eckroat. Two more bogeys on the 11th and 15th hole saw him tumble down and finish the round with a score of 71 and end the tournament tied for fourth, four shots behind Eckroat who claimed his first PGA Tour win.
Despite the disappointment, the golfer was happy to be back in the mix for the top spot and is now looking forward to the next big events.
