Tiger Woods’ bizarre golf bet meant that Michael Jordan stopped taking cheques from him

Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan
Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan had quite a close relationship for a long period of time. The celebrity superstars often spent their time hanging out together, playing golf, hanging out and well, being world class athletes. Jordan and Woods once played Bethpage Black on Long Island along with others, when a bizarre wager went down.
The Bethpage course is an extremely difficult one, especially in terms of technique. It is generally advised that only experienced players take on the course, especially due to its difficulty. To put into context how hard the course it, the 7,459-yard course only has one par-3 that is under 200 yards in length.
Michael Jordan’s sly reply on winning wager against Tiger Woods

Despite Jordan and Woods being GOATs in completely different fields, the latter held a wager with the former. Jordan was pushed by Tiger Woods to break 92 on the difficult course. Jordan was nervous, especially as he was not in his field of expertise. “You could leave the cameramen on all day if we’re playing basketball. But the environment is very different when you leave your field. You turn into a human, which made me anxious,” said Jordan once.
For the first four holes, the NBA legend ended up with 8 over par, making the wager seem almost impossible to win. Jordan fought back big time however, and made his way back to finish with an 86. “I eventually declared that I was an athlete. I adore the game of golf; I enjoy playing it. Whatever occurs, occurs.” Additionally, after winning the bet against Woods, he said somewhat slyly, “I don’t take checks.”
