Tiger Woods drops to all-time low in World Golf Rankings
Tiger Woods
Things are going from bad to worse for the greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods. After suffering a horrific car accident last year, he has been out of action for quite a while now.
Woods has reached another low on the professional front this time. He is not among the top 1000 golfers, according to the latest edition of the global Golf Rankings. This is the first time in his career, Woods is outside the top 1000.
Following his car accident last year – the 46-year-old regained fitness and played the Masters earlier this year in which he was ranked 973. He then rose more than 200 spots to No.745 after making the cut in the Masters.

Tiger Woods might feature at PNC Championship
The former World No. 1 Woods then also featured at the PGA Championship and once again made the cut. However, he was forced to withdraw from the major championship after Day 3 because of discomfort in the leg which he had injured during the accident. He had to again undergo surgery on the same.
Currently, the Big Cat is World No. 1,206 according to the Official World Golf Ranking which is seven spots behind his previous worst rank. The Hay at Pebble Beach, where Woods played nine holes last weekend, pleased fans but there has been speculation about when he will return.
Earlier this week, Woods’ close friend Nota Begay III gave fans pleasant news that they might see the former World No.1 back in action at PNC Championship. However, it hasn’t been confirmed so far.
“Woods might surprise everybody and play in a fall event. I think he will,” Begay said last week. “I think he’s — we may see a late-minute introduction of a cart rule, that would be great … it will just be another chance for us to see how far he’s come.”
According to the US team captain Zach Johnson, the 46-year-old will also be part of the Ryder Cup scheduled to take place next year in Rome.
“Given who he is and what he’s all about, I can tell you right now, I don’t know if he’ll be here next year, but he’ll be a part of this team in some capacity,” Johnson said.
“He already is, practically. I can’t put this mildly — he loves the Ryder Cup. He has made it a priority of his and certainly of Team USA. He wants to be a part of it as best he can,” he added.
