The sport of golf continues to amaze the fans with incredible stories. On Tuesday, August 1, the PGA Tour announced that 15-time major champion and one of golf’ great. Tiger Woods will be the new member of their policy board. Woods will now be the sixth player director on this board along with his close friend and business partner, Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay.
Woods, often described by many as the GOAT of golf, had stayed silent for a while. Following the announcement of the surprising golf merger, fans were eager to hear the views of him. The veteran golfer though decided to stay quiet and would offer no comments on the merger. In a statement released through the PGA Tour, Woods claimed that he is honored to represent the board.
The 47-year-old American has always been a key figure in the PGA. During the establishment of LIV Golf, he was reported to have turned a nine-digit money figure and remained loyal to the tour. Fans were quick to react about Woods and Mcilory being kept in the dark when the merger was announced.
Woods who is sidelined through injury, will now be a part of this group. The final agreement between the tours would require the approval of the policy board members. He along with the others in this group can potentially decide the outcome of this mega golf merger.

The legend of Tiger Woods knows no end. The golf great has left people stunned with some incredible performances the sport has ever seen. He is now beginning his new chapter of golf while working behind the scenes and helping to pave the way for the future. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan is pleased with his decision and welcomed him aboard.
“Tiger’s voice and leadership throughout his career have contributed immeasurably to the success of the PGA Tour,” Monahan said in the statement. The top boss later expressed how he is working hard on regaining the lost “trust’ and “confidence” after the shock golf merger announcement. He once revealed his plan in regard to the future without CEO Greg Norman.
