Just like opposites attract each other, it seems like PGA Tour star Tiger Woods has closed up the gap with the Saudi-backed Tour. Fret not! The relationship closer has been talked about only in the virtual world and not in the existing world of golf.

The 2022 algorithm revealed that the two most searched words in Google were Tiger Woods and LIV Golf. Sadly for the Saudi-backed Tour, Woods ruled the google world. It seems, being the GOAT of the golf world was not enough to satisfy him, as he took over Google by storm.

At least according to the U.S. algorithm, Woods is ruling the online sphere. Online data has been divided into three categories – golfer, golf words, and golf questions. The first category has been assigned the value of 100, and Woods has been at the peak of the points.

It’s not like Tiger Woods participated in all 2022 events, but even his lowest amount of appearances raised typhoons worldwide. He’s participated in only 3 races in a season. The participation being – 4 Augusta appearances, 3 for the PGA Championship, and 2 at Open Championships. Recently he also appeared in PNC Championship with his son Charlie.

If people thought Woods’ popularity will suffer backlash after the 2021 accident, they were heavily mistaken. Though the incident did harm the GOAT, it couldn’t bring down his mighty aura. He then went ahead to win PGA Tour’s Player Impact Program, as the most influential figure both in offline and online space.

Winning the Player Impact Program granted Woods a check for $15 million. According to Google and golf records of 2022, Woods snatched the first position, followed by Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlory. Though male golfers dominated the list, a former female golfer found her place within the rankings.

Even though Paige Spiranac is a golf influencer and not a professional golfer, her name is searched much more than PGA or LIV golfers. Mickelson got second place due to the controversies that stemmed from his switch.

His jump to the rival Saudi-backed group was enough to put him in internet hot searches. Still, the golfer couldn’t outdo the GOAT. each of Tigers’ words and actions riled up the golf world and it is doing the same even now. Along with Woods, Spiranac’s actions are also widely noted. Her 3.7 million followers are not to scoff about. As per Google, she is one of the most searched people, even more than the former No. 1 ranking Dustin Johnson.
