“My man, My man, MY MAN!”: Tony Finau’s impressive 11 rounds in the 60s has Twitter shell-shocked and full of praise
Tony Finau
Tony Finau has been having a fantastic year till now to say the least, as 2022 seems to be going his way on the golf course. Currently T5 at the FedEx St. Jude Championships, Finau has been impressing for quite a long time. His first victory of the year on the Tour came at the 3M Open for his third career PGA Tour win. He astonishingly won a second PGA Title the very next week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit.
Finau became the first player since 2019 to win PGA Tour tournaments on consecutive weeks. His play of 26 under par for that tournament certainly sealed him as one of the serious contenders of the year. This also set him up to be in 7th place at the FedEx Cup rankings. “One of my goals would be to be a multiple winner on the Tour this season. To be able to accomplish that is great,” Finau said. “Winning the FedExCup is another objective, and I placed myself in a position to achieve that,” said Finau.
Coming to Finau’s recent rounds, the 32-year-old has been firing up an incredibly consistent performance. All of his last 11 rounds have been in the 60s- a feat that is quite remarkable. The record for the most consecutive 60s rounds is held by- you guessed it- Tiger Woods, and it is set at an incredible 19. Do you think Tony Finau will be able to break this record?

Tony Finau’s consistency sees him climb to the top of the ladder
Tony Finau’s fantastic performance is seeing him climb up the ladder slowly but surely. With his wins, Finau has a clear goal now. “Although it will be difficult to catch those players, the FedExCup’s point system allows you to move quickly up the ladder. I’ve at least given myself the opportunity to try.” It is surely going well for the golfer, as Twitter too was impressed by his fantastic performance.
