The LIV Golf Miami event turned out to be a good one for Legion XIII as they won their second team title. This came after Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton both finished T4 and shot 8-under. Personally for Hatton though, things had been a little worse as his caddie suffered a freak injury on Saturday.
This lead to him using a substitute caddie for the final round on Sunday. The injury to his caddie, Michael “Mick” Donaghy comes just days before the 2024 Masters event at the Augusta National. This would mean that the Englishman will need a new looper when he participates at the first major of the year.

Speaking in a press conference alongside Jon Rahm, Hatton explained that Donaghy had a fall during dinner on Saturday. He though was not sure what led to this fall.
My caddie fell over last night after dinner. Now, his reputation is an interesting one, so I don’t know how the fall really occurred, but either way, he landed pretty heavy on his shoulder. He spent the afternoon in hospital. He’s had an X-ray. He won’t be caddying for the next month.Tyrrell Hatton said.
Hatton however, was not the only golfer who had a substitute caddie for the event. Rahm himself needed the help of his former teammate Ben Schur, who carried his bag during the Spaniard’s earlier days on the tour. This was because his actual caddie, Adam Hayes came down with an illness.
Who will caddie for Tyrrell Hatton at the 2024 Masters?
The big question in the minds of several fans after the injury to Tyrrell Hatton’s regular caddie is who will replace him and take on the duty of carrying Hatton’s bag at the 2024 Masters. The LIV Golf star though seems to have already found a replacement.

As per Hatton, a ‘friend‘ of his has traveled to the Augusta National and will partner with him at the Masters and will likely help him out at LIV Golf Singapore and LIV Golf Adelaide, if he can get a visa for Australia.
I’ve got a friend on the bag. He’s actually flying tomorrow now to Augusta, and he’ll do Adelaide and Singapore if we can get a visa in time for him to do Australia.Tyrrell Hatton said.
According to reports from Bunkered, the ‘friend‘ mentioned by Hatton could be Hugo Dobson. He is a professional on the PGA EuroPro Tour and caddied for him during the 2019 Masters event. So, it is not like he will be walking into unfamiliar territory on this upcoming Thursday.
Hatton finished T34 at the Masters last season. However, this was an improvement from his 2022 appearance where he finished 52. He will need a much better outing than this though as his chances for next year’s event could be on the line due to his allegiance with LIV Golf.
