When Tiger Woods decided to make his comeback at the 2022 Masters this year, players and fans alike were excited to see him get back into the sport. Woods has sat out for over a year after suffering from a horrific injury that hurt his leg.
While Im Sung-Jae took an early lead in the Masters on day 1, it was Scottie Scheffler who led after 3 days of the tournament. It is clear that Woods will not be picking up another green jacket anytime soon, especially as he sits back in 47th place- a career worst performance for him.
Tiger Woods’ health concerns shorten his career span

It was a brave performance for Woods however, as it was evident that he was in a great amount of pain after the game. He is still struggling with many health-related issues. “I got rods and plates and pins and screws and a bunch of different things in there. It’s never going to move like it used to,” he said, owing to the terrible car crash that injured his leg.
More injuries plague Woods that could potentially end his career. “It’s going to be the back. It’s fused,” he said to essentiallysports.com. Woods has been at the centre of back and knee injuries all over his career. As they get worse, it threatens his life span in the sport, soon coming to retirement.
