Donald Trump had challenged President Joe Biden to an 18-hole golf competition at his Doral golf facility in Florida. Trump stated that the match would be “among the most-watched sporting events in history” and offered to contribute $1 million to a charity of Biden’s choosing if he won.

This is the latest episode in an ongoing spat between the two political rivals over their golf skills. During a recent presidential debate, Trump criticized Biden’s golf ability, claiming Biden “can’t hit a ball 50 yards.” Biden responded by proposing to have a “driving contest” with Trump.
Earl Cooper, Biden’s former golf coach, believes Biden could defeat Trump in a match, pointing out that Biden formerly had a single-digit handicap and was “shooting in the 70s.” However, Cooper did admit that Biden is “slowing down” compared to his prime golfing days.
