“Gonna trade Kyrie Irving too” – Rob Pelinka and Nico Harrison’s unexpected meeting since Luka Doncic trade has fans in splits
Fans are in a frenzy after witnessing Nico Harrison and Rob Pelinka’s first encounter since the blockbuster Luka-AD trade.

Rob Pelinka and Nico Harrison meet for the first time since trading Luka
Following the matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors, the franchise hosted Andre Iguodala’s jersey retirement ceremony at the Chase Center. The 2015 NBA Finals MVP was celebrated for his eight seasons with the Warriors, during which he helped the franchise secure four NBA championships.
However, after the game, one peculiar moment was captured by ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk that has been making rounds throughout basketball circles. Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, who was Iggy’s agent before taking the job with the Lakers, was in attendance during the ceremony. So was Mavs GM Nico Harrison, whose team was in town.
Earlier this month, both general managers were the target of fans’ ire due to a controversial trade they agreed upon. Before the February 6 trade deadline, Nico Harrison decided to trade their franchise icon, Luka Doncic, for Lakers’ big man Anthony Davis.
This deal is being dubbed as the most important trade in the modern NBA era, possibly changing the trajectory of the Lakers’ championship hopes. Luka Magic recently confirmed that the only purpose of playing for the Purple and Gold is to add another banner to the rafters.

In the clip, both can be seen embracing each other momentarily before heading to their respective seats to attend Iggy’s jersey retirement. One fan wrote, “Gonna trade Kyrie Irving too,” echoing the uncertainty among Dallas fans.

While it’s impossible for the Mavericks to trade anyone now for the rest of the season, their fans are clearly disappointed in their home team’s front office. Besides that, the Lakers and Luka seem like the winners of this trade, improving their standing to the 4th seed in the West.
The Mavericks, on the other hand, have been plagued with injuries and are struggling to keep their playoff hopes alive after a trip to the NBA Finals last year.
