“Got to do a better job” Russell Westbrook takes the blame for loss against Philadelphia 76ers’

Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook

Although Russell Westbrook might have encrypted himself in the history books in the game against Philadelphia 76ers, being the 4th man in NBA’s history to score a triple-double with his team in the first 2 games. Westbrook is also seen making significant gameplays with his Washington Wizards teammates. But those incidents are not resulting in a win for the franchise as they recorded their second consecutive victory of the season.
Both Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook have been in spectacular form, both offensively as well as defensively. With Thomas Bryant providing the ideal support on the scoring charts. But it seems like, Westbrook feels it’s his fault somewhere down the line for this loss against the Sixers. The player suggests that he has to change and adapt even better than his current form to get the decision in his team’s favor.
“Bullsh*tt*ng around” Russell Westbrook
Russ has taken responsibility for the loss publicly, saying he was not taking the game seriously enough while playing it this time.
“I don’t know for them, I know for us. We didn’t put ourselves in a position to win the game, especially myself. Got to do a better job just sticking with it. That starts with me. This one on me though, bullshi**ing around, missing easy shots. You know? It was nothing that they did.”
One has to feel for Bradley Beal who saw his near 40-point outing muddled by the Magic. Westbrook scoring under 20 points was a big reason why the team lost, and it is good to see him take the responsibility for it. This is how a leader should act, and hopefully, the Wizards can rally and turn this around before they are in a bigger hole.
