Grigor Dimitrov is on the road to recovery after suffering a painful injury at Wimbledon in July. The Bulgarian star was forced to retire during his fourth-round clash with eventual champion Jannik Sinner. At the time, he was leading the match before a pectoral injury cut his campaign short. It was a major blow in what had been one of his most promising seasons in recent years.

Through the setback, his girlfriend, Mexican actress Eiza González, has stood firmly by his side. She recently shared her admiration for Dimitrov’s determination and mental strength during the rehabilitation process. González highlighted how quickly he returned to training despite the physical challenges. Gonzalez stated on her Instagram story:

2 days post injury. Nothing stops him. Hardest worker I know. The most disciplined @grigordimitrov

Just two days after the injury, Dimitrov was already back to light workouts, even with his arm strapped in a sling. González posted a short video of him running, praising his commitment. She wrote that he was “the hardest worker” she knows and applauded his unmatched discipline and drive.

Beyond the tough training sessions, Dimitrov has also shown his thoughtful side. González shared pictures of him surprising her with flowers, a gesture she captioned, “Flowers. All. The. Time.” The posts revealed both his resilience on court and his devotion off it.

The next tournament of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner faced each other once again in the US Open final, marking their third straight meeting in a Grand Slam title match. Fans are already looking forward to seeing when the world’s top two players will step back on court after their latest clash.

Alcaraz will resume competition this weekend at the Laver Cup in San Francisco, where he makes his second appearance. The Spaniard impressed last year by helping Team Europe with wins over Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz. After that, he will head to Tokyo for the Kinoshita Group Japan Open, an ATP 500 event, where he is set to make his tournament debut.

Sinner, meanwhile, will be competing in Beijing during the same week. The Italian has enjoyed success at the China Open, winning the title in 2023 and finishing runner-up the following year. His return to the event will be closely watched as he aims to defend valuable points.

Both stars will then feature at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, one of the final Masters 1000 events of the season. In the battle for the year-end No. 1 ranking, Alcaraz currently has the upper hand and is on track to claim the honour for the second time, after first achieving it in 2022.

Jannik Sinner unlikely to finish the season as World No.1

Carlos Alcaraz looks set to close out 2025 as the No. 1 player in men’s tennis, and Jannik Sinner has little room to change that outcome. The Spaniard’s victory in the US Open final not only gave him his sixth Grand Slam title but also a 760-point lead in the ATP rankings. That win shifted the momentum of the season firmly in Alcaraz’s favor.

Sinner’s challenge is that he carries a heavy load of points to defend over the next two months. Last year, he claimed titles in Shanghai and at the ATP Finals, leaving him with 2,830 points at risk. By contrast, Alcaraz only has 1,000 points to defend in the same stretch, which gives him far more freedom to extend his lead.

Opportunities still exist for both men. Alcaraz can strengthen his advantage at the Beijing Open and the Shanghai Masters, while Sinner could make gains at the Paris Masters, where he did not compete last season. However, the biggest test will come in Turin. Sinner must defend 1,500 points as the reigning ATP Finals champion, while Alcaraz only has 200 points on the line.

Even if the race reaches Turin, Alcaraz could seal the year-end No. 1 with just a few group-stage wins, without needing to beat Sinner directly. Smaller events in Vienna and Basel may offer extra points, but the reality is clear: Alcaraz is in complete control of the rankings battle, and Sinner’s hopes of finishing the year on top are fading fast.
