This week’s WWE Raw from Philadelphia kicked off the road to WrestleMania 42. One of the most anticipated parts about the show was the follow-up to Gunther ending yet another legendary career in the form of AJ Styles this past Saturday at the Royal Rumble. ‘The Career Killer’ trolled the fans in attendance by coming out to Styles’ entrance music.

The Philly crowd wouldn’t let the Austrian speak for a while. Gunther affirmed that he proved what happens whenever any so-called legend steps in the ring with him—both their career and legacy die. ‘The Ring General’ brought up the likes of Bill Goldberg and John Cena, who succumbed to the menace of the former Imperium leader last year.

Just as the 38-year-old was gloating about it, Dragon Lee made his way out to defend the honor of his former tag team partner. Lee went after Gunther and had the latter reeling at ringside. The former CMLL star’s mini outburst ended when the Vienna-born wrestler clocked the luchador’s skull with the ring bell from the other side of the barricade.

‘The Ring General’ then locked Dragon Lee into a sleeper hold and kept squeezing the air out of Lee’s lungs until a number of WWE officials intervened. Back in the ring, Gunther pulled Lee up with his mask and once again put the sleeper hold in. The protégé of Rey Mysterio was gasping for air with his feet struggling to make any ground contact. Lee ultimately passed out and tumbled down.

It appears like WWE is looking to run a short-term feud between Dragon Lee and Gunther after that ruthless segment on Raw. Some fans fear that it might eventually lead to ‘The Ring General’ coming across Rey Mysterio. Could the Austrian be gunning to retire the ‘Master of 619’ as well in the near future? It needs to be seen.

What chaos unfolded at the beginning of WWE Raw?

Raw this Monday opened up with a ticked-off Bron Breakker calling out Adam Pearce after what happened with ‘The Unpredictable Badass’ at the Royal Rumble. Breakker’s Vision cohorts made their way out first, asking their stablemate to calm down.

Paul Heyman got on the mic and started justifying the Breakker crash-out by accusing the General Manager of Raw of conspiring against the entire faction, but especially Breakker, due to the latter being #2 in the Royal Rumble match.

‘The Oracle’ also didn’t buy Pearce, saying he had no clue about the mystery attacker that ambushed Bron Breakker before he could even enter the ring for the Royal Rumble match. The WWE Hall of Famer stated that Pearce was the one to approve the visas of every superstar that went to Saudi Arabia, and he still couldn’t figure out who that masked assailant was.

Having heard enough, Breakker snatched the mic away from Heyman and gave Adam Pearce a 3-count ultimatum to show up. The Raw GM finally came out and dismissed every allegation levied against him. He affirmed that it was Breakker himself who drew number two as his entry number.

Secondly, Pearce said he didn’t know about the black-hooded mystery attacker, but the former NWA Champion quipped that the last time anyone was unmasked from the same disguise, it was Austin Theory.

Breakker turned his attention to Theory for a second, with Bronson Reed assuring that he wouldn’t have taken him out. Pearce further said that his gift to Breakker was not firing him, even after that “piss-poor performance in the Rumble.” That was it. The former Wolfdogs member made a beeline for the Raw GM only to be swarmed by heavy security on the way.

Moments later, LA Knight‘s music played, but he came from behind and took a swing at Bronson Reed and Logan Paul in the ring before absconding.

It was The Megastar’s payback for the Vision members after they brutally attacked him in early December and forced Knight to go on a two-month hiatus. Breakker was frustrated seeing all that unfold in front of his eyes. He asked Heyman in a dismal tone exactly what was going on with them.

‘The Wiseman’ couldn’t conjure up a valid explanation at that juncture, making ‘The Unpredictable Badass’ exit in disgust. Heyman later confronted Pearce backstage, asking the Raw GM to book Breakker vs. Knight for the night. Pearce said he couldn’t do it because he had sent ‘The Megastar’ home after he caused mayhem on Raw.

Pearce instead told Heyman to tell Breakker to leave the arena as well and that Reed had a match lined up with Penta. The night went from bad to worse for the Vision when ‘The Master of the Tsunami’ suffered a count-out loss to the former AEW star after LA Knight once again showed up at ringside and dropped Reed with a BFT on the steel chair.
