The future of Imperium has remained ambiguous since the events that transpired on Raw. Ludwig Kaiser turned on his long-time friend, Giovanni Vinci, after the team suffered a loss to The New Day. Furthermore, the German was greeted by Gunther backstage, who gave him a nod and smile of approval.
As such, The Ring General took to X and made a statement about the faction’s future. The Austrian wrestler indicated that the weak link had finally been removed from Imperium, referring to the beaten-up 33-year-old. This statement was accompanied by footage of the chaotic beatdown on Raw.
The video started with the former Intercontinental Champion throwing a chair after Imperium’s loss to The New Day. He then walked away as the German brutalized his stablemate all over at ringside. Later, the 36-year-old star made his own statement on social media, warning that there would be repercussions for failure in the group.

Tension had been brewing in the faction for quite a while. Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci had been facing losses repeatedly on weekly television. Hence, the Italian taking the pin from Kofi Kingston on the latest episode of Raw was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back.
Gunther announces his participation in the upcoming King of the Ring tournament
Gunther returned to WWE television for the first time after losing his Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XL. Rather than going back for the title, the 36-year-old made his new plans clear. He became the first superstar to announce his participation in the upcoming King of the Ring tournament starting next month.
The Ring General was then interrupted by The New Day. Xavier Woods reminded the WWE Universe that he was the reigning King of the Ring, winning the tournament back in 2021. Further, the former Tag Team Champion announced that he would also be a part of the upcoming tournament.
The WWE Universe was excited upon hearing this news. Many believe that Gunther could help bring back the prestige of the tournament while continuing his dominant singles run. As mentioned above, the tournament will begin next month, with the finals culminating at the King & Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia.
