WWE recently organized a dark match between Gunther and Jey Uso after SmackDown went off the air. After a hard-hitting affair between the two, the 38-year-old pinned the Austrian to win the match. The latter wasn’t happy with his loss and proceeded to attack the victor post-match, who was saved by Cody Rhodes.

Luckily for the Samoan, his old tag team partner came out to make the save. As Gunther viciously beat down his opponent, fans heard Kingdom play as Cody Rhodes rushed to the ring. As Jey Uso lay in the corner, The American Nightmare hit the former Intercontinental Champion with his dad’s iconic bionic elbow.

Uso joined in on the attack, softening up the formerly known Walter with a superkick before Cody Rhodes eventually put him down with a Cross Rhodes. After the segment, the WWE Undisputed Champion raised his ally’s hand as the two stood tall.

Despite being a Raw superstar, Jey Uso has been heavily involved in the circuit of SmackDown dark matches. He has had dark matches against Finn Balor, Gunther and other top stars on the roster. The promotion continues to build up the superstar, perhaps for a world title run in the future.

Bobby Lashley claims Gunther is dodging facing him in a match

Speaking on The Bump, Bobby Lashley talked about the ongoing King of the Ring tournament. He mentioned that he has wanted to face the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion for quite a while now. The latter has been ducking him repeatedly.

The All Mighty added that the WWE had kept the two apart for a long time. For the past year, the two have been on opposing brands and never crossed paths. Regardless, he had asked for the match many times and even asked the 36-year-old personally.

Unfortunately, his opponent simply denied it. The former WWE Champion wished that he would face the Imperium leader in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. However, the match was again rendered impossible as Bobby Lashley was pulled out of the tournament due to injury.
