Simone Biles had a highly significant day today as she secured her 34th medal, making her the most decorated gymnast of all time. Her achievement has been praised and celebrated by numerous individuals who have achieved success in various fields. Mikaela Shiffrin, a skiing superstar, was among the first to heap praise on Simone Biles.

In order to offer her congratulations, the individual who clinched victory in the World Cup on a staggering 88 occasions took to X this Friday. “WOW…Congrats @Simone_Biles!!” Shiffrin penned the Team USA announcement. Shiffrin’s collection of gold medals includes a remarkable achievement of nine wins in both the Alpine World Championships and the Winter Olympics.

She has accumulated a total of 17 medals from these two competitions. Alongside her impressive collection of 138 accolades attained in the World Cup, she has also managed to clinch 18 awards this year. By exceeding Vitaly Scherbo’s record, Simone Biles now holds the title for the highest number of medals won by a gymnast. During the 1990s, Scherbo achieved global recognition.

In Barcelona’s 1992 Olympics, he achieved six gold medals, while in Atlanta’s 1996 Olympics, he earned four bronze medals. After claiming 12 more World Championships between 1991 and 1996, he was forced to retire in 1997 due to a hand injury suffered in an accident. Biles has the opportunity to establish her new record and raise the bar for other gymnasts in the remainder of this year and at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, as she wishes.

Simone Biles wins 6th World title

The world championships witnessed the outstanding gymnast, an incredible athlete at the age of 26, securing her 27th medal on Friday. Her exceptional performance as an individual gymnast led to her winning the gold medal. The event happened in Antwerp, Belgium, as part of the competition. In the women’s all-around event, she achieved a score of 58.399 points.

By clinching her sixth all-around title, she has equaled the record for the most titles ever won, regardless of whether it was by a man or a woman. Her accomplishments are on par with those of Vitaly Scherbo, despite their careers spanning different countries. No gymnast in history has won as many medals as Biles, who has accumulated a total of 34 in World and Olympic competitions.

Among the women’s all-around competitors, Shilese Jones, who competes alongside Biles for the USA, achieved a bronze medal. Her final score amounted to 56.332. Scoring 56.766, Rebeca Andrade from Brazil secured the second-place medal. Biles shed tears during her triumph as the national anthem resonated in the background.

Two days following their history-making seventh world championship win, the Women’s National Gymnastics Team achieved yet another victory. The prominent role played by Biles as the team leader greatly contributed to Team USA’s triumph, clinching a gold medal at the world championships. The gymnast’s floor routine resulted in them achieving the day’s highest score. By a margin of over two points, this contributed to the team’s victory against Brazil.
