Two GOATS of their sport: Simone Biles looked up to Serena Williams for ‘pushing the boundaries’

Being a GOAT of any sport is not easy. An athlete has to be able to establish themself as a great, not to add to the fact that they need to be consistent and prominent in their field. The biggest example of this is Serena Williams– and alongside her Simone Biles.

Biles is considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, holding over 32 Olympic and World Championship medals. She has also been an outspoken advocate of mental health, as she has allowed people open up about their struggles. Biles has done great in the sport, and so has Williams in tennis.

Williams the former world number one and 23-time singles Grand Slam winner. She has been the face of women’s tennis over the last several years, winning the US Open 6 times. Both these athletes have a lot of respect, not only for each other, but for the way they have been able to inspire thousands and millions of people as well.

In an interview, Biles spoke about Williams, and how the latter inspired her to do things that she could not have even imagined to do. “I have always looked up to Serena Williams. They have just pushed the boundaries over and over again and I just think that it’s so amazing, it’s so creative. They’re taking their sports to new heights. That’s just something that I have always appreciated and looked up to,” said Biles.

“To do something that I’ve done forever and just not be able to do it because of everything I’ve gone through is really crazy, because I love this sport so much. It’s hard, I’m sorry,” said the gymnast. However, being greats in their own sports has been a long journey for the athletes, and they deserve a lot of respect for it.
