The much anticipated heavyweight title rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will take place this weekend. The stage is at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where these two giants of the sport will clash. Ahead of the fight, Fury has great expectations for himself.

Oleksandr Usyk became the first individual to give Tyson Fury his first professional loss back in May 2024. Since then, the Brit is eagerly waiting for his retribution and plans to achieve that this weekend. Going into the fight, Fury gave a stern warning against his title opponent.

I’m going to smash this f*ckers face in…I’m going to destroy him…I’ve never been as confident…You watch me go to work on Saturday night.

In the last fight, Fury clowned a lot, and looked like it cost him the fight. Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson said the same about the first fight. It seems like this time, the ‘Gypsy King’ is serious and will bring the same energy to the ring.

Since winning his heavyweight belt in 2015, Fury has been through a lot and has overcome it. From fighting depression to going toe to toe with the brute power of Deontay Wilder, Fury has fought through it. However, his recent loss might have had a greater impact on the fighter.

Another loss could put his legacy into jeopardy as the Ukrainian heavyweight star will likely leapfrog Fury as the best heavyweight of this era. If somehow Fury prevails, Riyadh Season could make the way for a lucrative trilogy fight. However, Usyk plans to end the rivalry this week.

Oleksandr Usyk is confident about defeating Tyson Fury again

Oleksandr Usyk has had an incredible rise to the top of the heavyweight division. With his unparalleled fighting IQ, the Ukrainian star defeated top contenders like Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois, etc. However, his performance against the mighty Tyson Fury got him worldwide recognition.

With his undefeated run and dominating victories, Usyk has gained massive momentum. His confidence is at an all-time high and he doesn’t see himself losing against Fury. In a recent interview, he confirmed the same and also talked about his plans after getting the win.

I gonna continue boxing. Maybe, I take rest 3-4 months. I wanna play with my team…then I’m back boxing gym.

Usyk has a size disadvantage when fighting against the top heavyweight and against Fury this doubles down. However, for the former cruiserweight champion, all these things don’t matter. It would be interesting to see whether the Ukrainian manages to keep his undisputed title after the fight ends.
