Fabian Marozsan, meanwhile claimed a vital win after losing in his opening grass season match against Hamad Medjedovic at the Stuttgart Open. Yesterday, he opened his Halle campaign by beating Russian Roman Safiullin 7-5, 4-6, 6-1. He couldn’t follow it up into the clay season, losing mostly in the opening rounds. His best clay performance came at the Barcelona Open where he reached the third round.

Nevertheless, the Hungarian is a ‘giant killer’. He has played against Top 10 opponents seven times in his career winning four and losing three. One of his biggest victories was against Alcaraz at the Italian Open last year.
