A contest that can have its fair share of twists and turns, Dan Evans will battle against second-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round at the Hamburg Open 2020. Tsitsipas has been off-colour since the Tour resumed and he would like to win this ATP 500 event to go into the French Open high on confidence.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Talking about the performance leading to the tournament, Dan Evans had to face a heart-breaking defeat to Hubert Hurkacz in Rome Masters. The 30-year old Brit fought hard before eventually losing out to Hurkacz 3-6, 6-3, 5-7 in the first round in a three-set thriller.

On the other hand, Tstisipas became a victim of the giant-killing run of local favourite Jannick Sinner in Rome. The 22-year old Greek tried a miraculous comeback but ultimately lost the match 1-6, 7-6, 2-6 in the second round at ATP Masters 1000 event in Foro Italico. The World No.6 hasn’t been looking in the best of touches of late, having bowed out of the US Open in the third round itself.
