Hailing from South Africa, AB de Villiers is regarded as one of the world’s best players. The star player has defied limits and given reasons to believe that age is just a number. Besides his exceptional batting skills, he always makes a mark via his spectacular fielding skills.
Predominantly a middle-order batsman, he entered an international career as a wicket-keeper-batsman. The 37-year-old has captained South Africa in all three formats.

AB de Villiers in IPL
The classic hitter has been a part of the IPL since its inception in 2008. Initially featuring for two years for Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevils) then, de Villiers has been featuring for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since 2011. With the bat, he has notched a high score close to 133 runs in the cash-rich-league.
Having being retained for 11 crores by RCB ahead of the IPL 2021 Auction, AB de Villiers has become the first overseas player to join 100 Cr IPL salary club.
