Life has been good for Jalen Brunson over the past few months. He has turned into a larger-than-life superstar after leading the New York Knicks to a championship last season.

While it was their third championship in franchise history, it was the most meaningful one as it was their first title since 1973. It was also the manner in which they won their title. They went on a 13-game winning streak during the playoffs, including clean sweeps over the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Finals, respectively.

During his performance, Harry Styles gave a special and heartfelt shoutout to Brunson. The surprising move drew loud cheers from the arena crowd.

Since winning the championship three months ago, Brunson has been hailed as the “King of New York”. While the 30-year-old has dismissed the label, he has become one of the biggest names in the city. He has been credited with uniting the city after lifting the title in June.

2026 has been a dream year for the Knicks guard. After winning the championship and winning the Finals MVP a few months ago, it was recently announced that he would be hosting “Saturday Night Live” when the new season begins later this month. The announcement means that he would be the fifth NBA player to host the show after Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Charles Barkley.

He was seen in attendance for the US Open semifinal between Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe on Friday. Brunson linked up with Shelton after the match and revealed that he will be there for the final.

It is likely that Brunson will be in the spotlight once again at Arthur Ashe when Shelton takes on Alexander Zverev in the final on Sunday. The Knicks’ season-opener will be on October 20 at MSG. It will be a memorable night for Brunson and his teammates as they receive their rings, but they’ll face a tough opening night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
