The Haryana Government will also be making efforts to make Haryana a sports hub. They will be building five sports centres of excellence where athletes will be given the best facilities possible.

“Five sports centres of excellence (for boxing, hockey, shooting, wrestling and athletics) will be opened in state where free coaching will be provided to talented players,” said Dushyant Chautala, the deputy Minister of Haryana.

The sports Minister of Haryana, Sandeep Singh said that as important as the facilities are, rehab is equally important for the athletes. He said that many times players get hurt and this is a very low time for the athletes. He touched on Bajrang Punia also playing at Tokyo Olympics despite being injured. Even though Punia won a medal, Sinh said that rehab is very important going into the future.

“Right now our players have to go abroad for rehab, but not anymore. We will opening four rehab centres right here in Haryana. The four centres will be covering the whole of Haryana. There will be 5-5 cities near two of the rehab centres, and 6-6 cities near the other two.” said Sinh.

There will be foreign doctors and foreign physios in the centres along with sports science facilities for efficient and successful rehab of athletes. There will be a dietician for the athletes along with injury management, and all the athletes needs will be taken care of.
