‘He is a tool’, Nick Kyrgios blasts Novak Djokovic’s letter asking to ease restrictions on players

Novak Djokovic’s letter to Craig Tiley that demanded an ease in the newly levied restriction on players, has received a lot of flak. After 72 players were subjected to strict lockdown in Melbourne, Djokovic sent a letter to Craig Tiley, Australian Open CEO, asking him to ease some restrictions on players.
Many in Australia have mocked Djokovic demands, citing the fact that these restrictions are in place to control the virus’ spread. Daniel Andrews, Victoria state’s Premier, flat out rejected Djokovic’s demands. So did Tennis Australia and Craig Tiley. Another person who disagreed with Novak Djokovic’s proposal is Nick Kyrgios.
The Australian recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Djokovic’s letter. And Kyrgios didn’t mince his words. “Djokovic is a tool,” Nick Kyrgios wrote. The Australian also commented on Bernard Tomic’s girlfriend and her complaints regarding food served to players at the hotel. “I don’t mind Bernie but his Mrs. obviously has no perspective, ridiculous scenes,” Kyrgios tweeted.
What were Novak Djokovic’s demands?

After seeing many players complain about the new restriction levied on them after arriving In Australia, Novak Djokovic wrote a letter to Craig Tiley, AO CEO. This letter consisted a proposals which were directed towards easing some restriction and giving some freedom to players. Following are the proposals that Novak Djokovic’s put forward:
- Fitness and training material in all rooms
- Decent food, according to the level of the tournament and from an elite athlete
- Reduce the days of isolation for the isolated players, carrying out more tests that confirm that all are negative
- Permission to visit your coach or physical trainer, as long as both have passed the PCR
- If the previous proposal has the green light, that both the player and his coach are on the same floor of the hotel
- Move as many players as possible to private houses with a court to train
