Carlos Alcaraz’s popularity on and off the court is at its all-time high this year. The Spaniard has established himself as one of the players to continue men’s tennis’ golden generation following the retirement of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
With his incredible ability to pull the masses to watch tennis, Andy Roddick has revealed why fans love Alcaraz. This season alone, he has featured in several exhibition tournaments, more than most ATP players.
There was the Netflix Slam against Rafael Nadal in March, the Six Kings Slam in October, and recently the Madison Square Garden exhibition match against Ben Shelton. Alcaraz has become a popular figure who always loves to entertain fans with his flamboyant tennis.
Besides that, he has been incredible in tournaments this year. The 21-year-old opened his account for the season by winning the Indian Wells Masters. He then enjoyed an excellent summer by winning the French Open and Wimbledon Championship. The World No. 3 ended the year winning the China Open.
Alcaraz’s growing popularity has made him the most wanted player for any big exhibition match or tournament. Tennis legend Roddick, who is a big fan of the youngster, recently revealed that he’s the new celebrity in tennis.
Alcaraz ended the season winning four titles but was inconsistent with his performance on the court. At several tournaments, he failed to play his best tennis including the US Open. If the Spaniard does work on his day-to-day performance he will surely win more fans.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz drew 16,194 fans to watch the Charlotte Invitational exhibition event against Frances Tiafoe. The contest lived up to expectations as both players produced some outstanding rallies and showmanship. In the end, Tiafoe came from behind to snatch the victory 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (11-9).
Andy Roddick and his two children, 9-year-old son Hank and 7-year-old daughter Stevie, were in attendance. Roddick said during the aforementioned podcast that his children loved the match and were “losing their minds” about the way everything went.
Alcaraz is looking forward to the 2025 season and will open his campaign at the Australian Open which starts on January 12. The Spaniard has also revealed that he will feature at the Rotterdam Open after the Grand Slam event.
