Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson is one of the most beloved NBA players. So, a lot of hearts were broken when he suffered an injury in game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. It was diagnosed as a torn ACL in his left knee.

He missed the entire 2019-2020 NBA season. After completely recovering from this injury, he tore his right Achilles during a workout. This was just before the start of the 2020-21 season. As a result, Thompson had to miss the entirety of the last season too.

In total, Klay Thompson has not suited up for a professional NBA game for 927 days. But the good news is that his return is now imminent.

Abject Frustration – Doris Burke calls looking at Klay Thompson
During the Christmas day game between Suns and the Warriors, the camera moved to point towards the Warriors bench. What caught everybody’s attention was Klay Thompson just sitting numb, as if pondering over something.
No prizes for guessing, Klay was missing what he loves the most – playing basketball. Owing to the two injuries, Klay hasn’t played basketball for about two years.

Doris Burke, who was calling the game at the moment, but it perfectly, quoting – “…There is Klay Thompson, sitting on the bench, and if that is not the picture of abject frustration [then what is], like ‘get me between the lines’…”
Today was not the first instance where we saw Thompson broken. A few weeks ago, after the Blazers-Warriors game, Klay kept sitting on the bench with his head down, long after the game had ended. It also looked like he was crying underneath the towel on his head.
Klay Thompson recently said in a press conference as quoted by ESPN- “You go win. I just want to go win again. I want to win a fourth ring. Not being able to compete for the last two years, I feel like I have a lot of pent-up energy to prove – not to anybody else, but [to] myself, I’m still one of the best.”
