“The next goat to slay!” Henry Cejudo goes off on Twitter to challenge UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski
Henry Cejudo is well off with his accomplishments as an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling and a former two-division champion. However, his now callout of “The Great” Alexander Volkanovski, the UFC featherweight champion, seems to bring Cejudo a new source of his dying hunger for competition.
However, “Triple C” went subtle in his callout by reminding the Twitter world of MMA of his victories over the names he listed in a rather amusing manner. Not only that, the tweet was followed by showing an artwork depicting Cejudo sitting on a throne after beheading Volkanovski. Volkanovski’s response is yet to come as of now. Take a look at what exactly Cejudo had to say.

Henry tweets: “The next goat to slay!” “Demetrious ‘mighty rat’ Johnson” ” T.J Eposhaw” “Dominic ‘the booze’ Cruz” “Pending Alexander the Average” “@danawhite”
The tweet spoke volumes on Cejudo’s legacy in the octagon during his tenure as a two-weight division champion when he defeated Demetrious Johnson by decision, and technically knocked out T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz. Followed by Cruz victory at UFC 249, Cejudo retired to live a laid back life at age 33 after being in combat arts of wrestling and MMA combined for his 2 decades.
Now his current callout of Volkanovski can be reasoned from Volkanovski’s impressive performance and second-consecutive title defence at UFC 266. Volkanovski not only advanced in his striking but also showed heart in escaping tough situations, especially in the battle of grappling. With Cejudo being an Olympic level wrestler, he might be curious to see how Volkanovski will do with him on the feet but more importantly if “Triple C” takes him to the ground.
Regardless of whether this idea comes to its embodiment by Dana or not, we are sure that Cejudo vs Volkanovski will be the parameter of skillset and potential in the lighter weight classes and a match that will be fireworks of forever in the history of MMA.
