Rohan Gavaskar, the son of Indian cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar, was a cricketer himself who couldn’t replicate or come near the success of his father. However, he did have a promising career and great numbers in first-class cricket. He scored over 6900 runs in the domestic circuit at a healthy average of 44. He also went on to represent the Indian national team in 11 ODIs. Unfortunately, he was not able to perform up to the mark and was dropped, to never make it back to the team again.
Rohan has since then taken to cricket commentary and analysis. The 44-year-old has time and again had to endure accusations of nepotism against him, being the son of one of the most influential figures and cricketers in cricket. One such fan accused him of the same recently only to get a savage response from the former cricketer.
‘This troll doesn’t have his own name or photo’
Rohan Gavaskar had taken to Twitter to state that he was missing the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy already. A fan then replied to the Tweet saying, “Hey nepo… No more selfish cricket.” Rohan did not ignore the troll but chose to give a savage response.
He wrote, “Thank God our boys had more courage and guts than this troll who doesn’t have his own name or photo.” referring to India’s lion-hearted efforts and win over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy. The reply by the former cricketer has since then, gone viral on social media.
