High quality of Indian pace and spin attack will ‘confuse opposition’, says Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami
Indian pace bowler Mohammed Shami has expressed that it would be a headache for any opposition to prepare against the Indian bowling line-up as both the pace and spin attacks have been outstanding in recent times. The bowling attack played a key role as India outplayed the mighty Australian batting line up in their own backyard. Their phenomenal performance had helped Team India to come up with a mighty comeback from a poor performance of ending up 36 all out in Adelaide Oval to breaching the Fortress of Gabba with an Indian squad consisting of almost everyone being a newcomer to the Test Format.
Shami further stated that the opposition will certainly be confused whether to prepare a seaming track or a spinning one as both the facets of Indian bowling squad have proven to be equally dangerous. The opposition can’t feel their home advantage with a Team like India touring their country as they are prepared for any kind of pitch prepared by the opposition. The cricketing world is all too familiar with the strong batting line up of India and now it is time for them to witness the dreaded bowling attack of this century.
Mohammed Shami on the rise of the Indian bowling attack

India has one of the best fast bowling unit in the world comprising of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Under, the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India’s bowling attack has played a crucial role in their recent series wins.
Speaking of the same, “I have always felt this way. Be it our spinners or our pacers our unit is such that it confuses those foreign teams as to the kind of wicket they should prepare for us. If they give us a spinning track they know that Indians are famous for their spinners, but today, even if they give us a seaming track they are aware that India pacers are not going to let them breathe. The unit has created major headaches to oppositions,” Shami told Cricbuzz.
“They know our batting might but now they are troubled by the bowlers too, unable to understand how they should manage our bowlers. ‘Should we give a spinning track or seaming track, they are confused.’ We accept that we have 3-4 quality spinners and 3-4 quality pacers, now you give us whatever you want to,” Shami added.
The senior pacer further stated that India has plenty of high quality fast bowling options as the players who are benched in the test series are themselves capable of bowling over 145 Kmph. Also India has traditionally relied upon spin bowling in the Test format but at present we can see the world class fast bowling unit joining hands together to make a stupendous combo that will be seen in action next at the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand.
