Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are the two most successful players in terms of Majors won this season. Both have lifted two each. Sinner was the Australian Open and US Open champion, while the Spaniard emerged as champion in the French Open and the Wimbledon.

Many consider Holger Rune to join Sinner and Alcaraz to form the next Big 3. Unlike Sinner and Alcaraz, Rune has not yet won a Grand Slam title as he is yet to advance beyond the quarterfinals, reaching the stage once at Wimbledon and twice at the French Open.

I think Sinner has been a very complete player this year. Then, when Alcaraz is playing his best tennis, he also seems complete. But at the same time, I can see that they can improve in some areas. That’s unbelievable when you think Sinner this year won almost everything. The great thing about tennis is everyone always has a chance to get better.

Holger Rune told Tennis365

Sinner, apart from the two Majors, lifted six more titles and also defended the Davis Cup with Italy. Alcaraz, on the other hand, had clinched four titles. Rune, who is a four-time ATP title winner, was trophy-less this year.

Holger Rune explains why Novak Djokovic added Andy Murray to his team

Holger Rune was surprised after learning that Novak Djokovic hired Andy Murray as his coach. During that same interview with Tennis365, the 21-year-old revealed his thoughts on why the Serb added his longtime rival to his entourage.

Novak didn’t have a coach, so he was looking for something new, but I didn’t expect someone like Andy. I’m sure now he wants to win more Grand Slams and we don’t know what it will be like to have Murray in his corner.

Holger Rune said

Murray retired this year at the Paris Olympics, while his last ATP match was at the Wimbledon. Djokovic was slamless and apart from the Olympic gold medal, he did not win any title. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is set to kick start his 2025 season at the Brisbane International before playing the Australian Open.
