The New York Knicks had a stellar 2023-24 NBA season. They knocked out their arch-rivals, the Philadelphia 76ers, and their star man Joel Embiid in Round 1 of the NBA playoffs. Recently, the Knicks fans made their feelings towards Embiid clear.

The Roommates Show is hosted by Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Recently, they organized ‘The Roommates Show Block Party Live from Central Park.’ Fans turned up in huge numbers for this event at Central Park. However, during the event, things quickly turned hostile as fans started a “F***k Embiid” chant.

This was due to the rivalry between the two sides in the Eastern Conference. Moreover, both sides have added more depth to their rosters ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. The Sixers are looking to make a statement as they added veteran Paul George to their roster. On the other hand, the Knicks acquired the talented Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.

In addition, this particular matchup will be one to watch for NBA fans around the world. Both sides’ fanbases always turn up, resulting in a sporting spectacle. Hence, it remains to be seen how these two sides will perform once they clash against each other in the upcoming NBA season.

Embiid is no stranger to hateful chants. During the recent Olympic games in France, he was similarly targeted by French fans. This was because he chose to play for Team USA instead of France despite promising to play for the French earlier. The animosity from the French crowd was apparent the moment he landed in France.

The Philadelphia Sixers star, Joel Embiid has always been straightforward about any topic or discussion. He is known for his blunt nature around the sport. Moreover, he also loves being a ‘villain’ and embraces any challenges put upon him. Similarly, Embiid was hurdled with boos and ‘F**k You’ chants against the Knicks last season.

Nevertheless, Embiid opened up on the Knicks’ hostile crowd and their explicit chants, handling the situation gracefully.
