The winner of the 2024 Barracuda Championship will receive $720,000. The total prize purse for the tournament is $4 million. This is the largest purse in the championship’s 26-year history. In addition to the $720,000 winner’s share, the tournament offers 300 FedExCup points and 4,250 DP World Tour points to the champion.

The Barracuda Championship is a PGA TOUR event in partnership with the DP World Tour. It is run by the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, a nonprofit organization. The event comprises 156 professional players participating in the Tahoe Mountain Club’s Old Greenwood course in Truckee, California. This is the sixth straight year that the event has been hosted at this site.

Barracuda Championship 2024: Purse Breakdown

Akshay Bhatia earned $684,000 for winning the 2023 Barracuda Championship. This was his first career PGA Tour victory in his 36th start as a professional. Bhatia defeated Patrick Rodgers in a sudden-death playoff after the two players tied with 40 points under the tournament’s Modified Stableford scoring system. Rodgers finished second, earning $414,200. However, Bhatia will not defend his title this year, since he is participating in the 152nd Open Championship.

Julien Guerrier and Jens Dantorp finished third, both taking home $224,200. Ryan Gerard finished fifth and earned $180,650. The Barracuda Championship had a total prize fund of $3.8 million. Bhatia’s $684,000 first-place award was the greatest portion of the money.

This is Bhatia’s second PGA Tour triumph, having previously won the Valero Texas Open in a playoff earlier in the 2024 season. The Barracuda Championship victory also guaranteed Bhatia’s PGA Tour status through the 2025 season.
