Minecraft is an open-world survival game where players can craft a variety of items in order to make their living easier. Some items are not very useful in terms of survival or necessity, but players like to make them anyway to improve their living conditions!
Here is how to make a Minecraft item Frame from scratch.

The item frame is a block like entity that can be hanged on the walls of the player’s house and can even display items. There is also a glowing variant that gives a glowing effect to the frame.

Players can find them naturally spawning only in End Ships found in End Cities. The Elytra is framed within a Minecraft Item Frame. Players can break them easily by hand and obtain them.
Expert-level cartography villagers have a chance to sell an item frame for 7 emeralds. However, making it is cheaper by a wide margin!
How to make a Item Frame in Minecraft?
Players need to obtain two separate items in order to make an Item Frame:
- Sticks x8
- Leather x1
Leather con be found from killing cows and sticks can be made easily by breaking wood.
Combine the two items in the Crafting Table to make an Item Frame in Minecraft.
Players can also add a Glow ink Sac, found from the Glow Squids, to make a Glow Item Frame.
Uses for Item Frames
- Item Frames can be placed on the sides of solid blocks, cactus, pressure plates, walls and more. They can also be placed on chests and doors but players need to sneak when placing.
- Players can place items in the frame which will display a smaller visual of the item on the top of the Minecraft Item Frame.
- An map can also be placed on the Item frame to have a GPS like locator map in-front. The movements of the players are also recorded in the map.
- Players can name them separately using the Anvils.
- The items in the frame can also be rotated by clicking on them.
- Glow Item Frames will make the background of the item to be glowing.
