Hulk Hogan has been involved in a lot of controversy over the past decade for his political views. Alongside being accused of being a racist, he has also been criticized for his support of the Republican Party and advocating for Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential Race.

Hogan recently appeared on Impaulsive, hosted by Logan Paul, and outlined the thought process behind his infamous speech at the Republican National Convention. The 71-year-old’s speech was mostly unscripted. The officials at the event made him rehearse his speech. However, this led to his confidence dwindling and him being self-conscious. Thus, he mostly said what came to his mind.

He revealed that he had been a Republican/Trump supporter all his life. However, he always hid this part of himself and called himself a coward for doing so. Hogan never put a Donald Trump sign in his yard or wore his shirt or hat because he was afraid of the consequences. However, when an assassination attempt was made on the former President of the United States, the 8x WrestleMania main-eventer let go of this fear.

They screwed me up so bad I almost couldn’t talk. … They wanted me to read this copy, and I’m like, ‘I don’t even speak like this.’ I got to the point where I was self-conscious.

Hogan mentioned that the crowd used to previously chant for him wherever he went. However, the audience’s reaction has changed slightly since his public advocacy for Trump. Instead, the arenas are either filled with “USA” chants or other political chants. This may be beneficial for the former WWE Champion, as he has stated being interested in getting into politics himself and even becoming president one day.

Hulk Hogan signs a new five-year deal with WWE

There was a huge debate among fans about what Hogan’s controversial views could mean for his future in professional wrestling. Many thought that WWE would be hesitant to be associated with him. However, this does not appear to be the case, as The Hulkster recently signed a new five-year agreement with the company.

Hulk Hogan signed a five-year licensing and merchandise deal with WWE. Furthermore, he would also act as an ambassador for WrestleMania and the company’s other major events. This was something that he was passionate about, and he enjoyed doing the work.

Losing all connections with Hogan would undoubtedly be a major hit for the company. Despite retiring nearly two decades ago, he continues to sell a lot of merchandise for the promotion. Furthermore, he is still one of the biggest names in professional wrestling. His association could be tremendously beneficial to the company.
