The Philadelphia Eagles are approaching the upcoming season with a fresh perspective as they are aiming for a bounce back following poor playoff elimination. The team is entering the 2024 season with many young talents to fill in for the loss of the legendary center and star defensive tackle.

This offseason, while the Eagles made some additions such as Saquon Barkley in the offensive, two of its biggest defensive powers parted ways with the franchise– potential Hall of Famer Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox. With rookie talents in the team, the Eagles have been improvising their locker room culture and strategy.

However, it appears star quarterback Jalen Hurts has his own way of fraternizing with the young additions which also brings him a renewed perspective before starting any season. He admitted that he began each season by treating himself like a rookie ready to learn.

I have the approach to every year of treating it like I’m a freshman, like I’m new to it, like I’m a rookie. Being diligent, being patient in everything that I’m doing. That requires you to learn the individuals that you’re going to be going out to bat with.
said Jalen Hurts in a recent press conference

Hurts reasoned his rookie strategy saying this helps him build a good relationship with his teammates and get to know them on a better scale, especially since they are the ones who would collectively lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl glory.

How Jalen Hurts shines through continuous growth

The Eagles star has always been great with his skills to adapt and that’s what makes his game better with every season. Back in his days in Alabama, he landed the starting job but had to give it during the halftime of the national championship. But he evolved himself and graduated with two more amazing seasons of college football

It was his patience while taking on the role of backup with Crimson Tide that finally landed him the spotlight in the SEC title game. Then as he transferred to Oklahoma, he instantly formed close ties with his teammates and led the team to the College Football playoffs.

Hurts has always been great at pushing himself and being open to evolving and learning, which is well reflected in his performance, even though he is anything but a rookie on the football field.
