“I definitely need a bear” Steve Nash after Brooklyn Nets hand Atlanta Hawks with first defeat 141-145
Kevin Durant
Even Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Stevn Nash admits he needed a beer after a wildly entertaining game Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks. The latter franchise has been handed their first loss of the season and in what fashion! With Nets’ Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving combining for 58 points. Whereas Hawks’ marquee duo of John Collins and Trae Young combined for 60, where in both scored 30 each.
Kyrie Irving struggled throughout the first 3 quarters with only 8 points against his name. But the man got hot in the fourth when his team needed him the most as he scored 17 of his 25 points in the last quarter. This was the first time Irving was seen struggling on the offensive end of the court until the last quarter.
Brooklyn Nets beat Atlanta Hawks 145-141 in regular time
With Bogdan Bogdanovic scoring six 3-pointers, he also scored 22 pointers. With Collins and Young both scoring double-doubles. The Nets never let the Hawks go away with the lead as everyone from their roster was just as fiery and fierce as them.
Brooklyn Nets had a staggering number of 7 of their players in double figure scores with Joe Harris scoring 23. Interesting to note, Irving was being wildly dominated by his counter Point-Guard Trae Young n the first 3 quarters. But the Jersey 11 for Nets scored three 3’s in the last quarter. Durant even had a double-double against his name by the end of the game.
With both teams meeting again in a couple of days, one cannot simply predict the winner after such a spectacular performance. This was surely a high-scoring game in which any neutral fan would not want the timer to be ticked off.
