Thomas Tuchel lauds Chelsea fans efforts
Manager Thomas Tuchel has heaped praise on the Chelsea fans saying that they have done thier job. Thomas Tuchel ha further added that he doesn’t want any apology from owner Roman Abramovich but is glad that they are not part of the European Super League.
Chelsea fans crowded around Stamford Bridge on the eve of their match against Brighton and Hove Albion. Tuchel admitted that he and the players were distracted by the large scale protests going on.
They drew 0-0 in a lacklustre performance but still ensured a place in the top four. They will be facing West Ham United up next in a direct contest for a top four finish.
“Yeah, yeah [I was distracted last time],” Tuchel said . “But it’s the owner’s club, it’s not my club. I’m part of the club, but it’s the owner and the club’s decision, and now they change that decision.
“There’s no need to apologise to me directly, my job is to adapt to the circumstances. Were we distracted, yeah clearly. Me personally, I arrived in a state of mind on Tuesday at the stadium that was clearly not the mindset that I normally arrive in, for a match, but that’s already in the past, and like I said, I don’t think they need to apologise to me.”
