“I don’t want to fight soon,” says Jon Jones that he won’t fight until he’s paid the right amount of money by Dana White

Jon Jones

Jon Jones is probably one of the biggest names in the world. The former light heavyweight fighter spoke out about his recent issues with the UFC’s bossman, Dana White on a podcast with Steve-O. Jones has the best resume among any other fighter in the world.

Jon Jones announced that he will be moving up a weight class and has rightfully done so. ‘Bones’ looks like he’s a heavyweight now. With the heavyweight division being the most interesting one among the other weight classes in UFC, Jon is looking to make his return for a title shot.

The promotion and the fighter are looking to fight the new champion of the heavyweight division, Francis Ngannou who recently beat Stipe Miocic. Even Francis has agreed to fight Jon Jones. But things have been a little shaky between the company’s president Dana White and Jon ever since he asked for more pay to his return super fight.

It all started when Jones put out a tweet that read, “Show me the money” when Francis beat Miocic. Dana White apparently doesn’t entertain any kind of negotiations for pay raise. Jon Jones is visibly upset about this.

Jones on the podcast with Steve-O said that he deserves to be paid more given that his fights will turn up the numbers. “The UFC will go on whether I fight or not. I got nothing to lose being in the position I am in right now. I don’t want to fight soon. I have no interest in fighting the UFC until I am paid what I believe I am worth,” said Jon Jones on the podcast.

Jon Jones also thinks that him asking for the right pay is also asking for other fighters to be paid right. The former champion said, “I know so many fighters that are living in the Jackson’s MMA gym because they don’t have a place to live, an apartment of their own. And these are all UFC fighters.”

Jon Jones is ready to sit out for even 2 or 3 years until something is done about the fighters’ situation. “If I have to have a bad relationship with Dana, sit out for 2 years-3 years for bringing light to this area, I would. These are the things people remember you for more than winning belts”
