I feel disappointed to have missed out on Arjun Award – Rupinder Pal Singh

India hockey star Rupinder Pal Singh on Thursday said that he felt extremely disappointed to miss out on prestigious Arjuna Award nomination.

On August 18, committee selected the 2020 National Sports Awards nominees.

Former cricketer Virender Sehwag and former hockey captain Sardar Singh were included in the committee headed by retired Supreme Court judge Mukundam Sharma to select the nominees.

This year, the committee selects Rohit Sharma, Vinesh Phogat and three others players for the Khel Ratna Award.

While 29 players comprising Ishant Sharma nominates for the Arjuna Award.

Rupinder lets his feeling apparent on Twitter

Pal took to Twitter and wrote, “After a decade of representing the Indian team, I feel disappointed to have missed out on #ArjunaAward.”

Singh also added that he will work hard and make all his efforts ascertainable.

“Fortunately, I don’t have much time to cry over this. So, I’ll put my head down, work hard and channel all my frustration towards improving my craft. Onwards and upwards.”

Rupinder, one of the best drag flickers of the world had represented India in the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in 2016.
