“I know i got this year in me” Is Calais Campbell preparing for his final season

Calais Campbell is training to go all out for the upcoming season of the NFL. After the postseason debacle in the 2021 season, the Ravens are looking for a comeback and their defensive tackle is as optimistic as ever.

The 35-year-old wants to train hard this season as if it’s his last. Is Calais Campbell preparing for his last dance?“I’m in a place right now where I’m just taking it this year. I know I’ve got this year in me,” Campbell said Friday during an appearance on Inside Training Camp Live.

“I don’t know if there’s anything left after that, but I’m going to leave it all on the field, empty the tank, and when it’s all said and done, after this year, I’ll reconvene in the offseason to see where I’m at. But right now, I’m preparing like this is my last year. So, I’m going to give it everything I have.”

Calais Campbell is going to appear in his 15th season in the NFL and is as energetic as ever. “The closer you get to the end, the more you appreciate it,” Campbell said in an interview with Mike Garafolo and Judy Battista. “I’ve been playing football for a long time but I know I’m close to the end. So, I feel like every day I come into the building, I’m grateful.”

“Appreciates the grind of the training camp”: Calais Campbell

Campbell has recorded 4+ sacks every season from 2009 to 2020. He’s also been a three-time All-Pro and six-time Pro-Bowler. The 35-year-old DE finished the last season with only 1.5 sacks and this year he will be looking for a comeback.

Campbell’s determination to perform better every season even at the age of 35 should be motivation for all the younger players in the squad.

The veteran DE thinks this can be a great year for the Ravens. “Well, we’ve got a lot of pieces. … We have a lot of playmakers,” Campbell said. “It’s a deep, deep roster all over the field.

Campbell believes Ravens will have the best defence in the league, I don’t know about that but what I do know that is Campbell’s positivity and optimism will be a big win for the Ravens this season.
