Justin Gaethje promises to make Khabib Nurmagomedov bleed ahead of their clash for the lightweight title. The fight serves as the main event for UFC 254.
In an interview with Brett Okamoto(ESPN), “The Highlight” has promised to make the undefeated Lightweight Champion bleed. Watch this snippet from the interview.
“I know I’m going to see his blood. I want him to see his blood and I want to see his reaction. He isn’t as crazy as me, that’s the thing,” Justin Gaethje said to ESPN. “I think he is crazy and loves competition but he isn’t quite as crazy as me. He also hasn’t seen his blood many times, I’m sure. His style of fighting is not something where you are looking for blood. I bet that doesn’t even cross his mind that he will see his own blood. That has never been a factor for him.”
Gaethje vs Nurmagomedov is a fight all MMA fans have their eyes set on. With what Gaethje has claimed in the interview, it is interesting to notice that “The Highlight” in his fights is all bloodied up. While “The Eagle” focuses more on wrestling, is never bleeding. Gaethje is known as one of the most violent fighters on the roster. And he proved that with his fifth round win over Tony Ferguson to win the Interim belt. Gaethje returns from a four-fight winning streak with wins over Ferguson, Cerrone, Barboza and James Vick.
Many have speculated that Gaethje would be “The Eagle”s toughest opponent to date. Khabib’s last fight was a win over Dustin Poirier last September. With that win, the undefeated champ’s impeccable record upped to 28-0. Khabib has already defended his Lightweight belt twice over Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. With Gaethje’s stand-up and wrestling abilities and Khabib’s groundwork, this will be a fight of the ages.
Who do you think will win, Khabib Nurmagomedov or Justin Gaethje?
