The former Bellator champion, Ben Askren is fighting the popular Youtube star, Jake Paul on April 17. Jake Paul has had a total of two fights in his boxing career. The YouTuber is famously known for his knockout against former basketball player, Nate Robinson. Jake beat Robinson in a second-round KO. Since then, Jake’s confidence has been through the roof and he even called out Conor McGregor prior to his fight against Dustin Poirier.

His opponent, on the other hand, Ben Askren’s last two fights have not gone in his favor. He is coming off 2 straight losses in the year 2019. This will be Ben’s first fight in almost 2 years.

Michael Chandler seems to have his money on Ben Askren. The Bellator champion was on “The Jim Rome Show” where he spoke about the fight. Chandler has no doubts about his fellow Bellator fighter’s skills. He feels a lot of people are unaware of how good a fighter Ben is.

In the interview with Jim Rome, “The man is a wild card; he marches to the beat of his own drum. Now, what I will say about the actual matchup, Jake Paul is not a great boxer. Ben Askren is not a great boxer. Ben Askren, quite frankly, the weakest of his attributes is his ability to strike on the feet.

But I think, depending on the referee, depending on the ruleset, depending on how the promotion is set up, Ben is going to be able to get his hands on Jake, do some dirty boxing, some underhooks, some pushing, some pulling.”, the fighter said to Jim.

Chandler predicts that Ben will drag Paul to the last rounds and beat him. Given that Jake Paul is yet to go past Round 2 in his two boxing matches, it might not be a bad prediction after all.
