“I will always be a Warrior”: Kevin Durant
Stephen curry and Kevin Durant
It was happy and memorable return to the bay for former Warrior Kevin Durant. After leaving the team couple of seasons ago, Durant played at the Staples Center for the first time, wherein he led his Brooklyn Nets with 20 points. He even got a tribute at the Staples center and was throwing hugs and handshakes all around.
Kevin Durant was, of course, part of the all-conquering Warriors team that ran the rule on the league for three years. Not just a couple of NBA titles, but he also gained a few life-long friends. When asked on Dubs Talk about his current relationship status with his ex-teammates on the eve of the game, Durant revealed something interesting.
Kevin Durant on keeping touch with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green
Durant said, “Yeah, definitely (I) keep in touch. You know, here and there, I have seen Draymond in the summer. We ran to each other at a restaurant. It’s good to see him and his family.
“Talked to Steph a couple of times. So, it’s good to see from afar everybody’s doing well. And realize that these bars that we created will never be broken, no matter what jerseys we put on, no matter what part of the country that we are living,” KD continued.
“It’s just like when you see guys from a championship-winning, you had long playoff runs with, you know, you have a different connection. So, I am very grateful for my time in the Bay area. I will always be a Warrior in my heart.”
Having said that, Durant’s return ensured that Nets get onto the winning ways. After all, the road ahead seems tough with LA Lakers also to play on the cards. Let’s see to what heights, KD is able to lead the Brooklyn Nets to.
